About Kittitas County Criminal History

Kittitas County records are divided among the Sheriff's Office, the courts in Ellensburg and Cle Elum, the Washington State Patrol, the Department of Corrections, and the Washington Sex Offender Public Registry. This private reference site helps readers identify which official office or portal holds the record they need. It is not part of Kittitas County or Washington government.

Why We Built This Site

One office does not hold a complete Kittitas County criminal history file. The Superior Court Clerk keeps felony case documents, while district courts maintain their limited-jurisdiction cases. The Sheriff's Records Division provides agency reports and local checks. Washington State Patrol compiles eligible statewide criminal-history information through WATCH, and separate state systems cover corrections and registry records. Bringing verified contacts, fees, request routes, and search instructions into one reference makes that split easier to navigate.

What You Will Find Here

  • Record paths: instructions for using the Kittitas County Sheriff's Office, Clerk, and court search systems
  • Official check details: distinctions among a local sheriff check, WATCH name search, and fingerprint-supported self-review
  • Local contacts: Ellensburg and Upper County offices, telephone numbers, counter hours, and request routes
  • Washington remedies: plain-language context for vacating a conviction, sealing a file, and correcting repository data

What We Cannot Do

This independently operated site has no authority to retrieve, certify, change, or suppress a government record. Its limits include:

  • It cannot issue a court document, sheriff report, rap sheet, or official background response
  • It cannot submit a public-records request or a vacation or sealing petition for a visitor
  • It cannot correct a court docket or Washington State Patrol criminal-history entry
  • It cannot provide legal advice about a charge, warrant, judgment, or registration duty
  • It cannot guarantee that an agency's hours, fees, or procedures have not changed

An official copy must come from the Kittitas County office, Washington court, or state agency that maintains the source record.

Search Partners

Search boxes may be operated by outside providers with their own prices, terms, data practices, and results. A paid signup reached through one of those tools may produce a referral fee that supports site operations. This site does not control the provider's charges or the completeness of its results.
